One thing I really like about this city is the fact that there are so many policeofficers and firemen. I mean, there are probably more firemen in New York than any other city in this country. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a very good thing, I’m just not use to it(still). There obvisously have to be that many because of the high number of people living here, but also because all the buldings are pretty old and are placed very close to each other. Everytime the is a fire (or what they think is a fire) they really go over the top with sending out cars and back up.

Walking home today, I saw the biggest madness I’ve seen in this city. I was walking down 3rd Avenue and saw all these cop cars, firetrucks, and ambulances lined up along 3rd. And it kept going for a couple of blocks. I soon realized that the fire was on 33 street but that they wanted to secure 2 blocks in every direction around the building where the fire initially started.  I was almost shocked seeing that big of a “rescue” team for that small fire. I understood why they did it, it just looked funny.

Everyone who knows me knows that I have the biggest crush on firemen so imagine me standing there on the street surrounded by about 50 firemen. For a second there, I was in heaven… at least I remembered why they were there. I just hope no one was hurt.
