Sweet Salem!

Published by josephine2222 at 11:37 pm under Places Edit This

Okay, so I’m up in Boston. Well, Marblehead really but close enough in my book. And jusut as lovely. As I’ve said many times before, New York is my favorite place in the world, but it sure is nice to get away every now and then, you know, since it can be rather intense in the city. And you should know by now that Boston is easily my second choice. It’s so lovely up here. And cold! Seriously, freezing, but what is one to do? Right?

Anyway, the weather is really nice besides the cold so today we headed out to a near by town called Salem. Yes, Salem the witch town, that’s right. We actually went to the Salem Witch Museum in Washington Sqaure North. It wasn’t hard to find since the building screems witches, and you could see it from a far. Nice building though. And cute tour- show inside. definately worth taking if you’re in the area. And since Salem is THE witch town in this country, one kind of hs to, but it was a cute, little tour. And pretty interesting too.

After being cultural enough for one day, we went to the hot spot of Salem, the coolest place in town, a cafe called Gula Gula. Easily the coolest place I’ve been to in a lonng time. And remember I live in NY. It this fairly low key cafe but with the interior, the menu, and the people, it was definitely ana awesome place. It was kind of a combination between the livingroom feeling and the local pub. The had a small stage for the weekly open mic nights, the acustic jams, and the occational live performances. The also offer game nights, poetry night, and DJ night. Not to talk about the cool, everyday hangout spot that it is.

The menu is a story of it’s own. The food was amazing but the drink list is what’s the real dinger. The had a full page of all of the different kinds of beer that they offered, which were non other than weird. They have no normal, regular beer. They only offer foreign, special beers, beers that you probably won’t find any where else. Such a cool idea. Please visit this place if and when you’re in Salem. You won’t regret it, and that’s a promise! The address is 247 Essex street, Salem. Go now!
