Bond, James Bond!
With the new James Bond movie coming out soon (Quantum of Solace) I feel the hype in the city. There are movie posters in every corner and on every wall. Going back to the previous Bond movie, with Daniel Craig as Bond, they have really put alot more energy and money into promotion this one. According to me, Craig did a really good job on the last movie and I like him as Bond. I’m so looking forward to seeing him in this new one.
And if you happen to be a Bond fan, there’s now a book out for you called “On the tracks of 007″, written by a Dutch guy called Martijn Mulder. You can visit 750 different places around the world and see the ‘behind the scenes’ locations to all movies.
Mulder has been working on this project for 10 years, mapping out all the places, some well known and some not so much. Like the famous scene when Roger Moore lands his small aeroplane in a bay in “The Man with the Golden Gun”. That island is located in the Thai carribean. The original name for it is Khao Ping Kan but is now more known as James Bond island. And do you know what road Sean Connery was walking on in Tokyo in “You only live twice”? If you don’t, you’ll find the answer in this book.
The book is a mere 300 pages and is a must have for all James Bond fans. And it will make a great christmas present. In the picture below you can se the author in Akime, Japan by this memorial/memory stone. This is the place where Bond steped ashore to look for Blofeld’s secret hideaway in “You only live twice”
