Cake it up!
I‘m not particularly fond of cakes. I mean, they’re good to eat once in a while, but I can’t say that I’m a cake person. Maybe except for the Swedish Princess Cake, which they sell at IKEA by the way. Then I also love chocolate cake and carrot cake, but I see those as more of bakegoods than cakes.
Anyway, there are few things in life that can be as pretty as a professionally made cake. Doesn’t have to be a wedding cake, but just those funny specialty cakes are beautiful. They are like eatable pieces of art in my opinion, and I would love to be that crafty and have that patience to create something like that.
I happen to know of a great, fairly small bakery right here in the city, that bakes the most amazing cakes ever. The place is called ‘Black Hound’ and is located on 2nd avenue. They have been making classic cakes from scratch since 1988 and some of their legendary cakes include the Busy Bee cake, the Checker cake, and the carrot or coconut cake. It’s been said that they use mouth-watering buttercreams and luscios ganaches, decorating them beautifully with unique garnishes and personalized messages. They say that their cakes are as individual as delicious. And according to ‘The New York Times’ they have some of the city’s most delectable cookies and cakes.
I was thinking of maybe stopping by the gym later, so maybe I’ll stop by this place later and pick up a little something to cheer me up. Sometimes you deserv it.
