The Met!
All summer long (and all winter too for that matter) I’ve been directing my excersise to Central Park and the many roads within it, and it’s been great. I love to be outside as much as possible and do everything I can for as long as the weather allows it. Today, it’s raining so I’ll be going to the gym, but it sure is nice to have the option to be outside.
As I’ve run/waled/crawled aroung the park, I’ve passed the Met (Metropolitan museum of Art) countless times but never actually gone in. I’ve seen many Gossip Girl episodes being shot at the stairs outside and I’ve read about many cool, inspiring shows at the museum, but never had the thought about actually going myself. That is until yesterday. Since it was raining, me and mom decided to be a bit cultural and go se the show, and boy, am I glad we did. It was an amazing experience that I, from now on, will recommend to all of my friends. Not only is the Museum of the largest I’ve ever been to, but the variety of art and sculptures makes it easier for everyone to find something they might like. I particularily liked the Greek-Roman Sculptures as well as the modern art with Picasso and Pollack, two of my favourites.
The Museum changes some shows as often as every 3 months but I wouldn’t wory about that. I can almost promise that you’ll find something that you’ll love. The buliding itself is enormous and so grand that, if nothing else, that will blow your head off. If you’re in New York you have to visit this Museum. But be prepared to spend a couple of hours there as it’s gigantic, inspiring, and it sucks you in. I was instantly hooked!
I have many pictures that I would like to show you but the ‘insert-picture’ function is not working at the moment so I’ll upload them later. For now you’ll just have to enjoy y writing
Now, let’s hit the gym people!

…I actually have masses of things to touch upon regarding NY, as i finally have surfaced from work…but only for a while..
..number one, did you by any chance happen to see all those 300 tow trucks rumbling trough your fair city a couple of Saturdays ago.what a sight it must have been. They where out to set a new world record, and set it, as the old record was a parade of a mere or tot trucks, set in Augusy of 2004 in Washington state.Bet this new one will indeed stand the test of time a while.
Then going back to your shopping spree, the ultimate bag I happened to see, and cavet of course, must be a Fendi crocodile bag with real agate embellishments at a mere $29.400 !!!!!Wow!
Which leads me to a recent survey of all the big cities in Usa, for best restaurants, shopping ,people, culture, quolity of life etc. and I am sure you’ll be happy to know, although probably not surprised in that NY, got the most No.1 ratings, getting 11 top marks.Boston did not fare so well. But I could have told them that without any survey.
Ans on the subject of Art, you do know of that famous Mobile Art Chanel Pavilion, actually a rowing gallery, a curving white fiberglass vessel whose fluid form was inspired by that old famous quilted Chanel handbag,is coming to New York’s Central Park on October 20th.
It debuted in Hong Kong in February, and is going on tours trough 2010, including to paris, London and Moscow. And once again, Boston is no where to be seen.Bah humbug.
You really must read up on it, and go to see it fore sure once it lands.
And last, a famous new Park is about to open in NY.The High Line.
A park built along a one and a half mile long stretch, along a long abandoned elevetaded strech of an old rail line. Now how cool is that, and what a vision some famous people had, to make a “floating park”..another wow..and again, not in Boston, no sirree,…here we are just plain old boring …sigh…
So El Diva, you have landed in a very good place indeed.
Hugs.
Oh no, I did not see all the trucks. Must have been a fun sight. Wish I would have know about it before so I could have seen it. Too bad I missed it! But there will be more records to break
Wait a minute… How did you find a Fendi bag for $25? Tell me now as I must know!!! That’s amazing. Tell me you bought it…
Wow, thanx for the tip. I will definately check that out. What a fun idea to move the museum around. I you can’t bring the people to the museum, bring the museum to the people. I have it written down in my calender.
Wow, did I ever, That sounds awesome. Onec it’s build I’ll invite you down here to come and see it. But I hope you know you’re always invited
Love you and am so happy you’re back!
