New York City Subway!
I cannot believe what I felt when I, yesterday, got on the subway for the first time since being back from Sweden. Fist of all I’d like to mention that the heat and humidity is not something we have. I have experienced it in countries like Thailand and Costa Rica but never in a big city. I don’t know jet if I like it or not, but one thing is for sure though, and that is that I definately don’t like the heat in the subway. With a temerature of 90 degrees yesterday, it was easily 110 down on the platform. And with all the people waitng for their train to come in, that is not a good feeling. The actual carts all have airconditioning and thank God for that, but I think something should be done to the platforms as well. I know, just during the couple of minutes I was down there, I almost fainted, that’s how bad it was.
Maybe I’m extra sensitive about these things, or maybe it’s because I’m not use to this kind of heat in a big city. What I will do now tought, is look for a bike. That’s right. I figure it’s better in every way to own a bike. Excerzice, the wind cooling you down, and you don’t have to fight people to get on it. Great, huh?
