Tourist in my city!

Published by josephine2222 at 6:23 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Since NY is my new home and that’s where I live, I actually do feel a little bit like a tourist in Stockholm. I know I’ve lived here all my life but that’s they way I feel. A freind of mine said that she thinks we should take one of those fancy tourbusses around the city so I get to be a real tourist. I’m not sure a tourbus is the way to go, but I do like the idea of being a true tourist. Then I get to blame all my stupid mistakes and wrongdoings on that fact, right?

As a tourist I couldn’t have picked a better city. As i’ve mentioned before, Stockholm truly is the most beautiful summer-city there is, and I think everybody should see it atleast once in their lifes.

Today I’ve just been hanging out with friends, having coffee in the sun, eating sorbet ice-cream, and been vintage shopping. It can’t get any better than that. Tomorrow I’m meeting some really old friends for wine and dinner, so I’ll see if I can get some pics up on the blog by this weekend. Would that be something you’re interested in seeing?

Got to go, there’s a soccergame on the telly, and it’s the semifinals of the Euro 2008, so that’s an important game…

 So long!

…how can a game be important, when Sweden’s not even in the game anymore…
…oh the Spanish speaking stations over here do follow the game by the way…but that’s it…it is barely mentioned anywhere else…not even on the evening sport news…
…and home is where you hang your hat, no matter how long or how short a time you have called it home…
…when ever I visited friends back home all those years ago, and at the end of an evening would stand up and say..well time to go home..somebody would invariably pipe up and say…oh are you flying back already…
…and when I would say…no, home to my mothers house where I am staying, they would say, surely you can’t call that your home …
…small minds and all that…and I would feel a pull to indeed be on that airplane and heading back to my life in USA…

I’ve never though about it in that ay, but that kind of helps me setteling down with all the torn feeling about where home is. Again, you’re the wiser one and I love you for it :)

and a part of me will always feel at home in Boston, just so you know :)
Will be home soon… a mere week left…
