Roommates!

Published by josephine2222 at 7:24 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Alright, time for the first angry  post on this blog. I don’t get upset easily, and when I do I don’t neccessarily like to share, but this time I feel the need to.

Ii I were to venture a guess, I would say that New York is the roommate city of the world. Where I come from, it’s not a very common thing to live with someone. Maybe a friend or family member, but that’s it. I woul never get the idea to live with a complete stranger unless I had to choose between that and being homeless. Now, please don’t think that I’m spoiled because I’m not. That’s just not how we do things.
Here, the other hand, everybody has got a roommate. You’re a minority if you don’t, and that’s fine. I’m cool with that,  and I’ve been lucky to have found a sane person to live with as that is not an easy thing. Sometimes, however, I get so tired of this situation and just want to leave. I would kill for some alone time and strongly feel that I have to get out so that I don’t totally flip out. Sounds like fun? Well, it’s not!
How do I stay sane and respectful when he is not? (yes, I’m actually asking)

Well well, in a couple of days, I’m leaving for Sweden and will be gone for 2 weeks. Can’t wait to get away, get away  from the apartment, from school, from this city, and from the weather. It’s going to be good!
This blog is coming with me to Stockholm and I’m going to show you a good time!

…OK…not that I really want to go there, into your comments and wonderings, but what the hell…in for a penny, out for a pound…
    I walk where fearless men don’t walk…

…in cities like NY, with it’s exorbitant rents, people often flock together in order to make ends meet…like wise in college towns like Cambridge and Boston and any big city with a large student population….apart from that, people really live much like they do in Scandinavia…

…so keep on hunting…if I can help, you have but to ask…

…now the second question, sort of follows above scenario…in that living with a stranger during all those college years, more or less prepares you for life…be it as a married person..or living with a significant other, or as you call it, sambo…or even in the business world, as one ends up sharing spaces with all kinds of people in an office…and not always seeing eye to eye with them on many things…

…and now as then…communication is essential, and what will ultimately make or brake a relationship..be it business, as yours is now ,or later a more personal one…

…so start talking…and I can safely say…even if you are met with silence for a few weeks, the dam will give, and the words will flow on both sides…
…so just stick to your monologue, but not in anger or arrogaance or pettily…just matter of factly and politely…it is after all a business arrangement you have right now…so treat it as such…

…well there you have my advise, not really hard to follow,as long as you put your mind to it, and stick to your script so to speak…

    …and now a question…what happened to Sweden-Spain????…
…up here our beloved Celtics Basketball team lost yesterday to the Lakers, so now they are coming back to Boston to play tomorrow night, and all I can say is, they better win, as that will clinch the title…so please keep your fingers crossed, as I did for Sweden…
…in one of your earlier notes you mentioned Beckham…Tvi..I spit on him…not a true sportsman is he,you should have heard his comments…most unsportsmanlike…he and his bubble headed bimbo can go to hell and back for all I care…so never wonder how come soccer is not big over here…people like Beckham takes care of that…

What would I do without you and your comments? Your advise and thoughts are clear, wise, and abvious. Thank you for being you! Noe I have a question: how come I’m not as smart as you? What quality do I lack? or is it an age thing anyway thatnks for the great advise and I’ll get right to the whole communication thing (even if it’s not the most fun thing in the world) :)
You know I’ll come to you for advise, if it’s a really big problem. I know this is not one, and I know I’m lucky in many ways. I have my helath as I’m not sick, I have a roof over my head, and I have a loving family, and that’s all I will ever need. I know that, but thanks!

Sweden lost to Spain and will have to win the game on Wednesday/tomorrow, or maybe we just can’t loose, so a tie might be alright. Will have to get back to you on that as I have my head all burried in marketing and accounting books for the last final exams. But no need to wory, I think I’m doing pretty well. Will get beck to you on that too.

I’m curious, what did Beckham say now? or was it something he did?
I too think that Celtics should win so that atleast one Bostonian team will win this season (remember their loss to the Giants?) :)

    love and hugs…

and mumin… if you haven’t seen it yet, you might want to check out the diamante blog since it kind of is about you :)
    kisses and hugs to all!
