Work out season!

Published by josephine2222 at 5:01 pm under Places Edit This

Summer is upon us and with that bikini season. As a member of New York Sports Club, I’ve been witnessing people for months, trying to get ready, literary working their ass off. I have as well, even though it takes longer than one might wish for. A good way for me to motivate myself is to think about celebrities. Their bodies always seem to be in shape, whether it’s summer or not, and that’s what I’m aiming for.

Now don’t go thinking that they don’t work for it, because they do. They work very hard. They of course have personal trainers, nutritionists, and personal assistants to make sure they do what they have to and who help them achieve their body goals. Since I’m neither famous nor have a personal trainer, I have to do it on my own. I’m actually getting pretty good at it and have been starting to think about becoming a personal trainer. That is not something I would do right away as my college is keeping me busy enough, but I’ definitely planning to do by fall. If I were to do it, here are some places I would want to work:

Crunch (623 Broadway)
This is where Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth of Sex and the City work out. SJP, with her personal trainer, doing various exercises with a bosu ball to focus on stability and balance, and Noth doing regular fitness training and taking boxing classes.

Jivamukti yoga centre, (853 Lexington Avenue)
If you’re all about yoga and especially Jivamukti yoga, then this is the place for you. If you decide to visit this centre, or the other one at 841 Broadway, chances are you might run in to super model Christy Turlington, who is a big fan of this yoga.

Equinox (97 Greenwich Avenue)
Equinox’s venues are located all around Manhattan, but this one is frequently visited by Julianne Moore, Lance Armstrong, and Jodie Foster. Even Giselle Bündchen is a member and likes to workout in one of their pools.

Broadway Dance Center (322 West 45th Street)
If you are a hardcore dancer, this is where you want to be. Former N’SYNC choreographer Wade Robson is often seen holding classes here. He is frequently joined by other So You Think You Can Dance judges and competitors.

Central Park
Lucy Liu can be spotted running with her personal trainer in the park.

G Spa & Lounge (Hotel Gansevoort, 18, 9th Avenue by 13th street)
This is a more luxurious venue and might be a spa by day, but it turns in to a nightclub at night. It doesn’t really matter what time you come here, there are always celebrities here, and some of the regulars include Lindsay Lohan and Rosario Dawson

David Barton Gym (215 West 23rd Street)
This is said to be the gayest gym in the city, and also one of the most exclusive. If you’re a fan of actor Kevin Bacon, you might want to pay this place a visit.

…. bikini bodys my foot…if we talking about early 1960’s…boy did I have a killer bikini bod…but alas since then many moons have passed..and with each moon one part or another of my bod has gone South….although I might add,I haave noticed several of the older actresses seem to be having the same problem…so El Diva…enjoy it while you are young…
…and now Queen is on…whom I still totally think is the best, and I’m sure God is having a good time listening and shaking his bootie ….

Well then, I’ll just have to make sure to bring the ’60s back. What’s hot and happening in NY is hot an happening every where! (or so they say)

Queen is, indeed, the best. I even went to their concert in Stockholm a couple of years ago and it was a killer show! We’ll have to arrange a Queen night sometime this summer when I travel north. That will suit us well as we are both queens!

    Love!
