Being in college, I’m fortunate to have the ability to create my own schedule and can, therefore, make sure that I my days are as free as possible. Why? You might ask. So that I can enjoy this beautiful weather of course. Who would not chose to lie in the sun, in the park, getting suntanned instead of sitting inside with ones nose buried in the books? I know I would, any day of the week, which I, for this summer, will be able to. Morning classes and evening classes a mere three days a week is what awaits me.
Even now, I’m able to be outside most hours of the day. Today, for example, I’ve spend most of my time in the oasis we know as
Central Park. The park is my favourite place in the entire city, and I would live here if it was safe at night. With a blanket, a bottle of water, and a book in one hand, and a fashion magazine, a box of strawberries and some candy in the other, I headed out to the middle of the park, just below
Belvedere
Castle and the Turtle pond. Secluded enough but not to far away. I spread out, plugged in my ipod and immediately fell asleep. It was just lovely!
What I like about Central Park is that it’s totally fake (everything is carefully planned and designed), it’s so different from the rest of the city (the calm oasis in the most crazy city), and there is no other place in the world like it. I mean, what is there not to love?
I sure hope everyone gets to see this park, and gets to experience all the different elements that make it what it is. I was to admit to one addiction in my life in this city; it would have to be the park. I just can’t get enough!
