As much as I love a great party and to have a good time with my friends, I always try to make sure I follow some rules when it comes to drinking. I have listed them as my dos and don’ts of drinking. Rules should be saved for future use.
Do
1. Every other drink you have should be a glass of water. The effects of the drinks will last longer and your head won’t feel as bad the next morning. If it looks and feels boring, just pimp your drink with an umbrella or fancy straw.2. Try to sink at least 2 big glasses of water right before you go to bed. This is actually the one I’m struggling with the most since I’m usually quite drunk when I get home and tend to forget that.3. Make sure you know what you are drinking. It’s never fun realizing that the Russian vodka you thought you were drinking is actually someone’s homemade poison mix.
Don’ts1. Don’t mix your liquor. If you’re drinking beer, stick to beer, and if you’re having wine, stick to that. I wouldn’t even recommend mixing different kinds of wine. If you’ve started drinking white and then move on to red, the effects are going to be worse. What I would recommend, though, is to just drink hard liquor, than you won’t have to worry about mixing. You can sink just about anything. Even shots!2. Don’t drink on an empty stomach. Always make sure you have a solid foundation before you pick up a drink. I’ve found that hamburgers, pizza, and other fast foods are the best choices.3. Don’t, under any circumstances, leave your glass out of sight. It doesn’t matter what you’re drinking, always make sure you keep one eye on that glass. If you loose it, get a new one instead of finding the old one. That will benefit everybody, especially the people owning the place, as they can hide everybody’s drinks to get them to spend more money at the bar.
Hope you found these dos and don’ts helpful. If you want to avoid any kind of misunderstanding or don’t want to have to remember these rules, then just don’t drink. Stay away from the booze! If you booze it, you loose it (your brain cells that is).

Yesterday night was a very fun one. But man did I get home late. I finally put my head on the pillow at 6.15 after what felt like a long, long day. We went to a couple of places which I want to recommend. All of the places I will ever mention in this blog will be good ones and therefore deserves attention.
Before I get to my list of yesterday’s places I want to say that there are 2 things that are just as important as the actual party, and that is the pre party and the after party. Don’t go directly to the club or the bar. Start out by first going to someone’s house for a couple of drinks (to warm up so to speak) and then go to the place you intended to go. But don’t feel sad when your favourite club closes down for the night, that just means that the fun is about to begin. You can either go back to the place where you held the pre party or go to someone else’s place and recreate the pre party. If you do that, you have created your self an after party and the entire night will be a guaranteed success.
These are some of the places we visited last night:
Cipriani’s (
Soho): A wonderful place with really great music, nice interior, and a good atmosphere. The restaurant business is downstairs and the food is delicious. The club scene takes place upstairs. Cipriani’s also has a restaurant uptown, by Apple store by Central Park South (
59th street
) and 5th Avenue.
Spotted Pig (
West
Village): My favourite place in this city. A great, fairly small bar with the greatest staff ever. The all know us pretty well by now and the treat us like family. We always meet new, interesting people there, and if you’re into the whole thing with spotting celebrities, Spotted Pig is the place to go. It’s very low key and unpretentious, so you can just come as you are. I don’t think I’ve had a single night out that didn’t end at Spotted Pig. Greatest place ever!

Being in college, I’m fortunate to have the ability to create my own schedule and can, therefore, make sure that I my days are as free as possible. Why? You might ask. So that I can enjoy this beautiful weather of course. Who would not chose to lie in the sun, in the park, getting suntanned instead of sitting inside with ones nose buried in the books? I know I would, any day of the week, which I, for this summer, will be able to. Morning classes and evening classes a mere three days a week is what awaits me.
Even now, I’m able to be outside most hours of the day. Today, for example, I’ve spend most of my time in the oasis we know as
Central Park. The park is my favourite place in the entire city, and I would live here if it was safe at night. With a blanket, a bottle of water, and a book in one hand, and a fashion magazine, a box of strawberries and some candy in the other, I headed out to the middle of the park, just below
Belvedere
Castle and the Turtle pond. Secluded enough but not to far away. I spread out, plugged in my ipod and immediately fell asleep. It was just lovely!
What I like about Central Park is that it’s totally fake (everything is carefully planned and designed), it’s so different from the rest of the city (the calm oasis in the most crazy city), and there is no other place in the world like it. I mean, what is there not to love?
I sure hope everyone gets to see this park, and gets to experience all the different elements that make it what it is. I was to admit to one addiction in my life in this city; it would have to be the park. I just can’t get enough!

New York is my city, and what a great city it truly is. Where else can you get Chinese food, or anything else one might need, delivered to your door at 5 am, (not that I’ve ever had that done, but it sure is nice to have the option) or experience the the greatest shopping, the greatest clubs, the greatest museums, and of course the greatest park?
New York might not be the capital of
America, but I can think of no other city more deserving of the title Capital of the world.
Living here, just being apart of the everyday life, is an adventure itself, and I wouldn’t give it up for anything. Although I haven’t lived here for that long, there is no where else I see myself living. This is my home.
As a young college student, who can, from time to time, be quite the party girl, I experience many different parts of this city; do stuff that others would only dream of doing, see things people only wish to see, and hear things I can not write about. I will share every little detail of my life in the city and take you with me on the journey that is
New York City!
Enjoy!
